Sometimes I think we forget what we as Christians are all celebrations. It has become so commercial and selfish. It’s all about us but the birth of Christ. Hence Christmas.

The purpose of Christmas
Maybe it has become less a Christian festival and more a Mid-Winter celebration. As I was saying earlier, we should all feel able to celebrate exactly as we wish, big family gathering or a quieter affair if that’s what we wish. I share your despair about the amount of waste, plastic and food in particular, as a result of over commercialisation. But I really love Christmas in spite of all that 😊🎄🎁🎅🏻🎶🍾⭐️
I was watching a film clip of a Japanese lady wrapping a present beautifully in a square of fabric and I thought to myself, I wish I could do that, and save all this wrapping paper waste. Quite a lot of it isn't even really recyclable. I might give the fabric wrapping a go next year, but I have a suspicion that, unlike the skillful Japanese lady, mine might look a bit of a bundle!!!
Thank you for this salutary reminder. We've got to share the "goodwill" through 2020. Every Blessing!
