Love food too much

34 years I’ve battled with over weight. I want to lose a couple of stone for my bones sake, but oh do I enjoy good food. 😋So, I’m giving it my best shot drawing on the help of you guys who are in the same boat.

Thank you for the group.

You can't love food too much! Loving good food is the key to healthy eating. You might need to keep quantities in check but you have a much better chance as someone who loves food than someone who doesn't or has never got into the habit of cooking :)

I’m retired so I cook everyday for hubby and daughter. It’s when we add sauces and garlic bread that I have to watch myself, in time I’ll get used to having less I’m sure.

I guessed you'd be someone who cooked :) It sounds as though portion size will be something for you to work on, and making the garlic bread an occasional part of the meal, not everyday.

My daughter and me have dropped a plate size. Garlic bread isn’t very often however, it’s between hubby and me so he has 5 bits and I have 4 bits, way too much and I know it. 😟

Ive learned that you need to love food and i plan my meals in advance so that i can stick to the plan better & look forward to my meals rather than thinking “ill pay for this!” I dont have guilty feelings like i used to when i have pizza or cake as ive factored it in already and just up my steps a little to compensate.

Good luck - you can do this!

Thank you. The eating plan does say don’t ban foods. I’m doing 80/20. Mon-Fri being as good as I can and Sat/Sun not worrying.

I have actually planned out next weeks.
