Finally on the move!

Hurt my back on Saturday and have today managed to get down the stairs unaided. Can’t walk properly but getting there.

Since Saturday my family have had to cook and have helped me set healthy food.

Does anyone else have problems with willpower and any ideas on how to stop myself opening the fridge all the time to see what I can eat?

Good to hear you're recovering DizzyD47 , and even better that you have a supportive family. Maybe you should let them carry on cooking for a while :)

I suppose it depends on what drives you to the fridge. The first thing to look at would be whether or not you're getting enough calories in your meals. If you haven't checked your personalised calorie range , you can do so here nhs.uk/Tools/Pages/Healthyw... and you may find it is higher than you think.

If that isn't the problem, then it may just be habit and/or boredom, in which case it's a question of finding alternatives to straying to the fridge. Habits can be difficult to break but it can be done. Each time you make a different choice, it gets easier :)

I think it’s boredom and habit. I work from home so it’s just too easy to just open the fridge. Think i might put a photo of myself on the fridge from many years ago and how I want to look again to try to stop my mindless eating. Hope your journey is going well. 🙂
