I'm here because I'm tired of the cycle and looking for suggestions. When my weight is down, I feel healthy but I'm always hungry - even on a full RDA caloric intake for my desired weight. A few years ago I held my BMI' below 1.1 for a year and hated it (it's now up around 1.25). For one - When I'm hungry I sleep poorly (3-4 hours) which makes me feel lousy and seeking comfort foods the next day. Sadly, exercise does not equate with sleep for me. I can bike 100 miles and I'll still sleep 3-4 hours unless I'm sated. I did the whole sleep lab thing some years ago. I was put on klonopin (big mistake). Over time, I became tolerant/dependent and it took nearly a year to fight my way off of that stuff - it was terrible). Hoping somebody out there has found a way to break thru this cycle and can offer suggestions.

Tired of Yo-Yoing
I suggest you log onto the Daily Diary, YAD, for help tweaking your menus. If you eat a high carb, low fat diet, you may always feel hungry. You may need to increase natural fat, for more satiety and decrease simple carbs, that spike an insulin response and increase hunger.
You might like to look into sleep hygiene, to help with your sleeping, to see if you can start to get back on track?
I hope this helps
I am sure you will get some suggestions on here, wishing you better days ahead.
Did the clinic find out why you slept poorly? Was it just down to feeling hungry?
For some reason i cannot explain, the later I go to sleep the hungrier I feel. I need to be in bed within 5 hours of eating dinner or else the hunger starts bubbling and I snack. I also used an 8 hour pink noise video from you tube to help me go to sleep, surprisingly it works even though I lay there thinking "this is not working", it konks me out fast and gives a longer sleep. There are also white, brown and blue noise videos, just flick through to you hear a sound that is comforting and at a volume that sounds nice. We are all different though, might not work for you but it does no harm and is free.
