It’s only day 3 but still managing to include my G&T! I like the idea that I am in control.

Hi and welcome, Wellington :)

Well done for getting back the control :)

I'd like to invite you to join our Newbie Club, which we hope will be a good place for you to connect with members, who are also just starting out. If you just post a few words to introduce yourself and respond to others there, you'll soon break the ice. Here's the link

You'll find all the information you need to navigate the forum in the header, so please take the time to read it carefully.

Wishing you all the best :)

That's great! And it's about realising that this is it - we don't have to deny ourselves completely, we just have to make decisions on what to eat / drink based on what we can afford (calorie wise!)

Have you lost 4stone or is that your target. Well done for either.

I lost 4.5 stone - then regained 2, then lost again, so currently at a 4 stone loss (14 stone to 10 stone). I would ideally like to get to 9 stone and then would aim to maintain between 9 stone and 9 and a half stone.

Just read about your journey, what an inspiration. After17 years I have just given up the walking group as I am breathless and not enjoying walking 6 miles in muddy wet countryside. I am 69 and at 13.4 need to get 3 stone off. If you can do it so can I. Thanks

I'm glad you found it inspiring! I was quite astonished at how quickly it is possible to improve fitness levels - it really doesn't take much.... but start slowly and increase in small increments. If you over-do it, it will set you back.

If you're not confident about walking outside, why not try some inside marching/walking? Then you can do it whatever the weather. The Leslie Sansone walking is supposed to be good:
