Nightshift

So two nightshifts, first one was really interesting did a trackwalk down at Marble Arch, it's really hot down the tunnel and the air gets pretty thin . Then was at Holland Park the next night. Paul's after two night shifts a medium hot chocolate and an almond Croisont . I get to about 5am and my body just screams give me sugar .Exercise, 2am and 4am I walked the 116 steps from platform to street level.

Overall cooking at home from scratch Im feeling a lot better. My main challange is simply coping with the shift changes without binging , that is going better overall and I am moving more.

I actually summoned the courage and got a set of scales , its baby steps and finding a path that suits . I am actually recognising that im using dood as part of a coping mechanisam as opposed to sustinance.

It used to be fags and coffee, its going to have to be exercise, not a marathon but walking or swimming a bit .

By the time I hit the pillow on Tuesday night I had slept two hours only in about 36 hours .

I went out like a light at 8 and slept until 4am I feel so much better.I may have rambled a bit , but writing my mad life down helps get perspective.

116 stairs is impressive! And the hot choc and croissant sounds like they were very much needed. It's weird when you get right under London. I've worked lots of late shifts in retail, some of the big central stores have basement stock rooms over several floors and you can hear the trains running past. I've found I need two dinners for late shifts. I wonder if a sandwich stuffed with salads and other healthy filling things might help you get through the 5am hungries.

All mad rambling reports welcome on here. Keep going :)

It's a good idea but having a Pauls. Two doors from work is deadly. There hot chocolate is too die for, thick, dark and bitter just how I like it .

The hot chocolate on its own would be a great treat to look forward to, and as you don't do night shifts everyday it's not going to break the bank. But the croissant maybe could that be exchanged for a salad/sandwich option? Or can you develop selective blindness and walk past Pauls to somewhere with some healthier options?
