It's time

Hi I have just joined a few days ago. After sticking my head in the sand fora long time. It's time to change my eating habits. After many years of dieting and with getting older my body is telling me enough is enough. Been under the quack for migraines and hot flushes. All they seem to want to do is check my blood pressure. Which is always high when I am in there . So I had a 24 hour monitor which said I am borderline. So went back monday to discuss my options. All he suggested was tablets. I brought up about me being obese and wanted 12 weeks to get my eating under control. Instead of asking me about if I needed help he said ok but having high blood pressure is dangerous and will see me in 12 weeks time. So left there and decided if they can't help, apart from putting me on tablets. I have to do this on my own. I am not confident to go to slimming clubs and have a limited budget . After spending over forty years on one diet or another I know what to do. So my aim this week is 30min of exercise a day and cut out sugar and snacking. I have started a food diary which helps me when I am feeling hungry, I don't want to write down anything that is just bad as it is down in black and white not just eaten and forgotten.

Hi Paula

You are so right to take action NOW . I left it far too long and landed up with out of control blood pressure , dodge knees and pre diabetes

I took myself in hand at the beginning of July and totally turned things round and am now nearly at goal weight have lowered my blood pressure and cholesterol and blood sugar is normal. I did this by following Dr Michael Moseleys 8 week blood sugar diet ( available on Amazon and in book shops)

I meant business when I decided to lose weight. Bought an exercise bike with my Nectar points at Argos, bought a fit bit to count calories and steps and walked 10000 steps a day which takes about an hour, and swim 30 mins.

I have lost 15 kg and gone from size 16 to 12

So my advice is go for it , give it all you've got. Being overweight is the cause of so many health problems

Best wishes
