Hi everyone, my first post. I'm 64 and need to lose another 3.5 stone. I did lose 2 stone with WW but got bored after a while and have put on half a stone since stopping about 3 months ago. Can someone point me in the direction of the 12 week NHS diet so I can download it. Many thanks.
Newbie Judie: Hi everyone, my first post... - Weight Loss Support
Newbie Judie
Hi and welcome, Judie
The 12 week plan can be loaded from the right of the HOME page (bottom, if using mobile), of from a link in the welcome newbie thread.
Take a look at the Pinned posts section to the right of your screen (bottom if you're using a mobile), or in the drop down on the 'Posts' page (it says 'arrange by'). Read the Welcome Newbie thread, then move through to the challenges, where we hope you'll find at least one that will appeal to you.
Move down to the Topics, to find a variety of threads, collated into specific topics for ease of access and we ask that you also 'file' your own threads, so that others won't miss your important news.
Take a look at the NHS 12 week plan, as a lot of people have been successful with it, making sure to enter your details into the BMI calculator, to get a calorie allowance tailored to your personal requirements. Don't forget to take your starting measurements and a 'before' picture, as they can be very motivating on days that the scales refuse to co-operate.
We run a weigh-in every day of the week and you'd be very welcome to join one of them. The threads can always be found in the Events section, to the right of the HOME page, bottom on a mobile.
We also run a Daily Diary, where we share our meal and exercise plans for the day. It's a great place to get ideas and to keep us focused. The link can also be found in Events.
Be aware, that the HU app doesn't give you access to all of our important features, so we advise that you use the full website page.
We've found that to get the best out of this community, we need to be active on the forum, as it's where we exchange information, get motivation and inspiration and make friends. We hope that you'll join us here, regularly, too.
It's only left for me to wish you well on your journey
Thank you. I will try to find it and let you know how I get on

Welcome to our world. There are several of us seniors on here. It is definitely never too late to get in shape.
In 2014 , I was 2 stone overweight. During the following ten months I lost it ... through healthier eating ( but didnt totally ban any particular food , just less of it) and more walking.
Now three years on I am 2.5stone lighter, having been maintaining for over two years...and I'm nearly 65 but feel ten years younger. YOU WILL TOO , 😊
Just to reassure you that I can empathise with the 2 steps forward and 1 step back syndrome....I had a great year last year when we were planning to buy a new home and I found a horse near me to have on loan...several great months and the weight steadily fell off. Then we failed to sell our house; lost the house we wanted, I had problems with the horse who was getting on a bit, Mum fell ill and basically the weight loss stopped and I even started to regain it! Life just gets in the way sometimes.
This year, Mum is better and settled now, the horse has gone back into retirement and I have held a steady weight for a month or so. I got back in the saddle by booking some local hacks, now I have just got to get back in gear for losing this spare tyre....and this is where your post rang a bell with me as you are perhaps in a similar situation? I am 62 by the way, (and also called Judy) and in otherwise good health! Let me know how you are getting on?
