That looks lovely and refreshing in this sunny weather, enjoy.
Holidays are booked to be enjoyed, so don't worry about the slight increase while you were away having fun, no doubt creating wonderful memories during your stay in the west country. It is, after all, a wonderful place to relax and unwind.
I'm hoping to get back there myself later this year, as it's been too long (2010) since I last visited Cornwall. Glad to hear that you managed to return home safe and sound, following your drama at 70mph.
Don't worry, once eating habits return to normal, the excess accumulated should resolve itself.
Morning Mr NiceGuy
Thanks for your reply. You are right of course. Holidays are booked to be enjoyed. It was a first for me and my cousin. We were inseparable for the first 10-11 years of our lives but then due to personal reasons my mum left Essex and we lost contact for many years. My cousin found me on Facebook. Lots of miles between us ( she lives in Norfolk) my mum lived up there for 30 years too but didn't know my cousin was up there !π
So as you say this holiday was exactly that, making new memories and bonding again.
Have a great week.
I'm 65 today so I'm going to please myself! Lol ππ not food wise though back and focused. ππ»π
It certainly sounds as though your recent visit to Cornwall is one that will always hold special significance, since it seemingly allowed a bond to be re-kindled.
The fact your mum lived so close by, but didn't realise, makes your story all the more remarkable.
Nonetheless, I'm thrilled to hear that you've found one another again after so many years.
As for me, whenever I visit Cornwall, I like be located in Newquay, so that beaches of Fistral and Watergate Bay are close at hand. In 2005, we stayed in a cottage just behind the Esplanade Hotel, enjoying views of Fistral from the window. In 2010, we stayed in Crantock, but I considered it to be too far away from the action.
Where did you stay with your cousin?
We stayed in Holywell Bay, beautiful, and visited St Ives and Fistral beach, (they where on my bucket list!) we had to go to Parrenporth to order "Cornish pasties" for 2 of the ladies!! Lol
It truly was a great holiday.
I don't think we went to Watergate Bay or Cranock ( I will look both up)
My first visit to Cornwall was when I was 10 with all the family, then I hitchhiked there when I was 16 with a friend ( it was safe in those days!) and now, but definitely booking again for next year.
Hope you and your OH make a return visit soon it's good for your sole ! ππ»π
I love spending days at Fistral whenever I visit, since I consider it to be the UK's answer to Bondi. As such, I hope you enjoyed it as much as I always do.
Staying at Holywell, you no doubt had a great time negotiating the towering dunes, en-route to finding the beach beyond.
As for Cornish pasties, they're an absolute must, holding a special place in my heart, so I always run along the beach each day, to offset their calorie content.
Visiting St. Ives always conjures up great memories, particularly sitting against the harbour wall, ice cream in hand and simply watching the afternoon pass by.
When in Cornwall....
