I'm afraid I don't snack, missussim, but will have a handful of nuts if I'm hungry. Linseed I'd add to porridge, for it's nutritional qualities, dried fruit I don't eat at all, because it's full of sugar and dairy is limited to butter, cream and cheese, which tend to be additions to meals, or for my two "treats" for the day, which is coffee with cream.

I really don't want to get back into the habit of snacking, as it's a slippery slope for me, so rely on my meals being satiating and finding other things to do, to fill the gaps :)

Sorry to be so boring and less than useful to you! :D

thanks for replying, morels....always helps to get viewpoints from others...i dont really snack either, but with nuts even, they say some have more calories than others, is that true? linseed i do have on my porridge just checked how much i do put on, perhaps a tablespoonful or two, not much, dried fruit, yes, it sure would contain sugar...as for dairy it could cause intolerance in some way, I was thinking id try to cut out dairy but I do love cheese, although i dont eat it every day...but nuts, esp walnuts and almonds I do tend to nibble upon when I'm peckish...definitely no more crisps and other sweet cakes and stuff...but i must say Im partial to ice-cream esp the Salted Caramel and Pralines and cream from Hagen Daz...why is everything so tempting :P

There are 26 calories in one walnut and 1 almond, approximately 8, so you can see how quickly the calories add up.

I drink very little milk and when I do, it's whole milk.

Butter is pretty inert, in that it's virtually all fat.

Cheese I enjoy in moderation, but probably daily.

Cream I use in place of milk, for sauces, etc.

Linseed, is approximately 55 calories per tblsp

Sweet stuff is addictive, so I steer clear of it as much as possible! :D
