Hi all - thought I would try a new approach and one not expecting a fee each week!

You've come to the right place Bagpuss63! I really can't understand people paying for the sort of advice we all get on this site for free!

Its a strong marketing tool as the vast majority want to be slimmer and healthier - I never followed the diet plans but did find the physical weighing in each week a driver to lose!

Well you can weigh in weekly with us, Bagpuss. Ask Admin about the weigh-ins. And we don't do diets here either. Healthy eating regime yes, diet, no. Seize the day indeed! 😊

Hello Bagpuss63 and welcome to the Weight Loss Forum

Here are a few suggestions on how to get the most out of the forum. Please note if you are using the new HU App many of these features are not available so I suggest you use the full website version.

The first place to look is at the Pinned posts section to the right of your screen (bottom if you're using a mobile), read the Welcome Newbie thread first and move through to the challenges, where we hope you'll find at least one that will appeal to you ☺

Move down to the Topics, to find a variety of threads, collated into specific topics for ease of access and we ask that you also 'file' your own threads, so that others won't miss your important news ☺

Have a look at the NHS 12 week plan, as many people have had success with it. Also use the BMI checker to find your target calories, it's important to eat enough. This was a major turning point for me, realising I could eat anything I wanted as long as the calories are accounted for ☺

Don't forget to take your starting measurements and a 'before' picture, as they can be very motivating on days that the scales refuse to co-operate ☺

The forum also have group weigh-ins every day if you wish to take part. The posts can always be found in the Events section on the 'home' page ☺

You'll notice a grey box next to people's names, these are achievement badges, and as a new member you may have a 'Newbie' badge. If you have any questions or would like a Newbie badge please just ask ☺

We've found that to get the best out of this community, we need to be active on the forum, as it's where we exchange information, get motivation and inspiration and make friends. We hope that you'll join us here, regularly, too ☺

Best wishes

Anna

Liking your bit of Latin there Bagpuss63 Yes absolutely seize the day.

I joined 2nd Jan this year and finally found healthy eating. Forget diets ...they just don't work. I'm 3 stone down and 2 to go. :)

Good luck with your journey here on the super supportive friendly forum.

Jo

That's very much appreciated Jo! I need to manage the emotional eating and provide the amazing human body with the nutrients it's need - it's not easy out there!!

I agree 100% , when I think how I've treated my poor body !! No more :)

I ditched the junk and now eat real food. I don't calorie count and eat healthy fats. Check out the Sugar Free challenge post thread.

Hi Bagpuss63.I was going to join the "watchers of the weight" when I found this website. There is a FREE weekly weigh in here on whichever day you choose and it really does encourage you to eat well as you know you'll have to put it down in black and white !! The £5 fee I would've been paying I put by each week and will treat myself when I loose a stone. Anything you need advice on, I guarantee there will be someone on here who will know it or has been there. Good Luck! You can do this

Thank you for your encouragement!! I will deffo need the weighing element, as you say it's very much black and white - as are the food diaries. Like the £5 milestone kitty suggestion too.
