A year on and I've put it all back on again.... Sigh.

I'm such a yoyo dieter, and struggling to stick with the lifestyle change. I think it's all wine related, and the fact that I've been injured and unable to run anymore :(

Day one today. 14 st 11. Heaviest I've ever ever been (sob)

Will make sure I keep coming on here for motivation!

Hi mum_of_3. Welcome. I too have been yo-yoing for the last 5 years and got to my heaviest and decided enough was enough. The 12 week plan and this forum is fantastic and has helped keep me on track. Its not been easy but I am now at my goal weight. It has made me realise that I need to keep a track of what I eat as if I ease off those reins then I can so easily go out of control. Also if I have a bad day then I compensate for it over the next couple of days. That way if I have say a big meal out then I just need to eat less for a few days. You have to still live your life so its finding a way to keep the weight down but enjoying yourself too. Sorry that you have been injured and cannot run anymore but I am sure you will find other ways to exercise to help with the weight loss. There are lots of challenges on here that you could join in with and also a group weigh in on a Monday that is great for support and motivation. Zest (she is fab) will probably send you the link to the Newbie thread soon. You know what to do if you have done it before but hope you can make this time the last time and you can create new habits to keep the weight off for good. Best of luck :)

The good news is, if you've done it before you KNOW you can do it again.

Maintenance of your lifestyle change will be a challenge again when you get back to where you were, so think about that from the start. If you can't cut a particular food type out forever (e.g. wine!) then you probably need to include it while losing and focus on moderation. If you don't want to give up your glass of wine, is there something else you can cut out of your life to make calories for it?

Good luck! It's not easy.

Hi, don't worry. I too am a yoyo dieter and have been for years.

I am 13st 2 and the heaviest I have been. I am struggling to get into a size 14 and have had to opt for size 16 clothing.

I'm going to read and then reread the 12 week plan and make sure I get it into my head that I need to do this. Today.

Hi welcome back, looking at your previous posts ( a year ago) you really seemed to enjoy exercise, but now you mention you have an injury and can't run. Depending on what the injury is could you maybe swop running for power walking workouts, if so just google it for ideas, it's great cardio exercise, I combine that with 'ordinary' walking and it's working. You've done the plan before, so just print it off again, have another read and off you go! Good luck!

Welcome mum_of_3 - all the best on your journey. You are in excellent company. This is such a supportive forum. I run a couple of challenges - one that is weight related (Autumn Equinox) and one that is exercise related (Kilometre Zero). You can join my challenges at any time - you'll see the recent threads in the 'Pinned Posts'.
