It's a foodie affair...

Morning all :) I've decided to start my posts today despite having quite a few challenges this week with eating out. However last year I managed to lose nearly three stone in 8 months whilst still eating out every so often so I know it's do-able. Afternoon tea might be a big ask though! As well as posting here I'm going to be scrap-booking my journey, does anyone else do this? I'm also considering the Autumn Equinox challenge, who's with me? It's all got to help I reckon. Hope you have a lovely Saturday whatever you do :)

wow, you are so organised. i re-started my journey last monday, but have not had a great week so far. I began great, but from Wednesday onwards i have suffered with a bad back, hips and feet, so not slept very well at all, not had the energy to be very active, but i am not giving up, i am still hopefull for a little loss on mondays weigh-i n.

i have though taken a full length selfie to give me a push, and am looking for a foto of when i was a healthier weight to inspire me, (so far i have gone back a few years and not been successful) (hahaha)

I think sometimes being able to visualise how you want to look can be good. I'm having to go back quite a way to find a pic of me at a healthy weight too! I find that being organised works for me, not to the point of feeling restricted though. It's a balancing act I guess. I'm sending you well wishes to keep going, the more challenges you have along the way the bigger the reward :) thanks for your reply!

I agree. The first photo I found was in my late 40s!!!😊

Good luck you obviously have the right mind set because you know you can do it three stone is an amazing achievement well done . Setting a plan is a brilliant idea although I don't want to think about the Autumn Equinox now I just want to enjoy some summer if we have any!

I have managed to lose 15 lbs in three weeks through sensible eating no alcohol and I have tried to start running again. I have knee and back pain and some chafing at the moment though. I am invited for dinner tonight which usually are very boozy affairs. I am determined to be good though .i don't want to undo all I have achieved so far. My stomach has gone down and I am off on holiday in three weeks. I want to try and lose seven pounds before I go. It will be hard without my cycling and jogging though. Any suggestions for an alternative exercise that doesn't put pressure on knees and backs?

I don't know whether it's an alternative but I always found that swimming is lower impact than running. It's just whether it's right for you and whether you feel body confident. I love a good swim :) good for you losing 15 lbs, that's brilliant! And here is hoping we do get some summer to enjoy soon.. Thanks for replying!

Thanks for that I like to swim and have ordered some goggles to try to keep the chemicals out I am no where near a pool though and sadly don't drive as I am partially sighted which is a pain if back eases off though I may cycle to a pool which is on the other side of Lancaster . I am on the ole ibuprofen and it is easing off so fingers crossed and good luck with your affair. I will miss on having one lest I put my back out!

Well done with the weight loss. It shows what can be done when you develop good eating habits that work for you. I have found that the diabetes.co.uk Low Carb Program's guidance works well for me, and for tens of thousands of others according to reports. I still gain weight on holidays due to all the eating out but I lose it quickly afterwards by a combination of lower carbohydrate and intermittent fasting.

Just sharing a cream tea with my wife one day in Cornwall doubled my blood glucose temporarily, but it was fine a few hours later. It was delicious too - once a year won't hurt!

On a regular basis, I relax my diet one day a week to eat out with friends and then fast the following day. This keeps my weight steady in the long run. There is a lot of information about intermittent fasting on the internet. I've lost five stone in recent years and kept it off for three years so far. I also reversed my type two diabetes in the process.

I now drink much less alcohol than in the past, especially on holidays. I still enjoy a small glass of wine with dinner every evening, but have given up guzzling large quantities of beer. It helps control my weight and saves money too! And I still enjoy the occasional half pint without it becoming a habit.

Enjoy your holiday, knowing that any temporary excesses needn't become lasting habits.

Hi slimming_lady_22. 3 stone in 8 months is a great loss last year. Not heard of scrap-booking your weight loss journey before but if it works for you then go for it. Afternoon tea maybe a bit tricky. Meringues are not too bad if you don't eat the cream I guess. Hope you have a lovely weekend :)

This is really useful informative positive constructive and encouraging. My problem is my will power goes out the window after a few beers or glasses of wine . I am leaving well alone until I feel on top of things. I have psyched myself up not to drink till Christmas Dsy so will try to stick to it thanks for the information I will definitely follow it up
