Well folks I started yesterday - I've never calorie counted before , I found it surprisingly easy and was aided by the ' My Fitness Pal' app.

I've increased my water intake and I'm shopping after work and will not be popping any goodies in the trolley!

I read and interesting piece on understanding hunger and the common mistake between hunger and thirst - It's difficult for me but...I'm going to have a cuppa or a glass of water every time I fancy something to eat then leave it 20 mins and see if I still feel hungry... One day at a time :)

That's excactly like me !!! Drink water and 1/2 hour of walking/moving my body....

You wait fantastic results.

Good luck. And myfitnesspal has been my saviour too. I would never have controlled my eating without it! I also like that by keeping to a proper calorir count it stops me from eating too little as well as too much. In the past I would try whole days on just a few apples and wonder why I failed totally after a week!! With MFP I log a proper 3 meals a day and have lost a steady amount ovet six months, 20lbs lost in total and just 7lbs to my target!

Thanks Emma...and good luck to you too. I will try yourr trick of drinking water when hungry... I do drink some but not enough. Trouble is, I prefer my water to be the tonic variety with a gin in it!

OOOOHH! A woman after my own heart!!! Just count it in your calorie intake and you'll be grand!!!

This is only my third day, so my Friday tipple hasn't affected much yet....Feeling positive though :)

It is working Snowy33 :) I've lost 3lb since last Monday ( not even a full week - it's also a bad time of the month for me to weigh myself!! I'm chuffed :)

Emma says it worked for her, and a I've tried to drink more water myself this week ...as well as my few wines!! And today I find ive lost another 1.5lbs so am well pleased, just 6 yo go to my target. And this had been a week with very little exercise too, but kept to 1300cals most days.

Well I've managed to loose 3lb since last Wednesday! 5 days :) I'm keeping with the water :)

I'm loving the fitness pal app , especially when i'm in a rush - the bar code facility is a God Save!

Well done, looks like you are in a routine with logging and its so helpful. Have you tried the recipe function? I just input all my spag bol ingredients and have now got my own 'ellies bolognaise ' in the database, no added fat, low fat sauce, lots of veg added 250cal per portion, plus the pasta makes a decenr meal for 500.
