Maintenance can be a challenge. If you've lost weight by switching to healthy eating plan, then continue eating those healthy foods but simply eat a little more so you do not continue to lose. Weigh yourself weekly and adjust your food as you feel you need to, but don't get too wrapped up with numbers on the scale by weighing too often or you'll drive yourself insane :) a better indication and something to aim for is being able to use your belt or clothes fit as an indication to how stable your weight is.

Remember those changes you made were for life, if you switch back to your old ways, you will eventually gain and some, that a bio-chemical fact!

Good Luck.

I lost three stone on the 5:2 Diet, which means fasting (500 calories for women) on two non-consecutive days a week. This little video explains better than I can youtu.be/W9Aj6hRYg4A

Once you've lost the weight you want to, you just switch to 'fasting' on one day a week for the health benefits - and I make sure I weigh myself once a week so I can catch any rogue pounds before they multiply by having a 5:2 week.

I've been the same weight now since April 2013 that way.

Hi asmat,

I'd pretty much go with OlsBean on that.

I mean, it's all about habits. Once you are in better, healthier, more sensible eating habits you won't feel so inclined to eat the things that you used to eat that caused you to be overweight.

I mean there really are things that I would have eaten a couple of years ago that I can barely believe now that I would have ever eaten.

It's a process fo your tastes changing as your eating habits change. There are things I would have eaten previously that I would now find disgustingly sweet or fatty or whatever.

I lost weight in 2009 after my Mum died of Cancer dropped four dress sizes to a size 8 been this size ever since. Always been a big eater and still am even low it all healthy food no junk to be found other than one fatty treat a week. I have tried many times to cut portion sizes and failed love food too much. Incressing exercise and doing more works and I keep the weight off. Best thing I ever did losing weight changed my life for the better would never go back to my old life these days are gone for good. Wasted all my 20's did nothing at all with them and regret it but once my Mum died when I was 29 and still young enough to sort my life out I did. I live life to the full now and love life.

thank u all.i think losing weight and mantaining it stable needs two things.physical activities, diet plans and 2nd most important is to prepare yourself mentally ready for it,and i think it is a harder task to matain a stable weight than losing it.one needs to think before starting these plans, that may i be able to continue this plan regularly, for example if some one started daily one hour jogging or walk,he or she should think, whether my body be able to bear it for two months or more,if not he or she should start with half hour walk plan,
