Hi nizniz!

I think you are doing fine. Don't worry about being slightly over the 1400kcal. It is a rough target so getting close to that amount should mean you lose some weight. It is more healthy to get your fruit and veg than worry over 30 calories. Keep at what you're doing and I'm sure you will see some results :)

Just in case you are interested in my reasoning, I've given a bit more info. As a rough guide a woman needs about 2000kcal per day to stay the same weight, less than this they will lose more they will gain. To lose about 1lb per week you need to eat about 500kcal per day less than your daily requirement. Of course everyone's calorie needs vary in reality, e.g. you need more if you are heavier taller or more active. See what happens to your weight (and measurements) over the next couple of weeks when sticking to the 1400kcal. You can always fine tune if you find you are losing weight too slow or too fast. 1-2lb per week is healthy and sustainable.

Hope that helps!

You have done just fine, that won't be a problem. Just don't let it creep up. I am loving the carrots with the leaves on for snacks, so sweet and juicy.

go for a walk and burn up those extra few calories. Dont get too hung up on it. you will still lose wt.

Agree with the other replies. Don't worry about 30ish calories. You could easily be burning those off during the day without realising and it isn't an exact science. As albionjen says, the main thing is that you eat less than your body needs (by around 500 calories) - and it sounds as though you have reduced your intake based on previous habits.

Sometimes I am a little over 1400, others a little under, I take the view as long as I am eating less than I used to, that is good and healthier.

Good luck.

I don't eat breakfast and so I rarely eat more than 1200 calories a day.

Always aim at under 1400 so you don't give yourself permission to go over. Don't eat after your evening meal - make that a rule so you don't keep heading to the kitchen for snacks!

eat breakfast - it boosts your metabolism and does wonders.

Definitely eat breakfast!!!

porridge with raisins is my breakfast of choice and keeps me fuelled up until lunch at 1 pm (I exercise mornings).
