I've made a big breakthough this week in getting my BMI down below 30, so I am officially no longer obese- just very overweight
My starting weight back in January was 89kg and as of this morning I weighed in at 75.3kg. I've still got about another 12kg to lose for a healthy weight. When I started this lifestyle change I would have been happy just to make it to the overweight category but I feel so much better and more happy with myself that I really believe that I will carry on with the changes I've made and eventually be a healthy weight for the first time in my adult life.
My problem at the moment is injuries preventing me from being as active as I would like over the last month. Twisted ankle and once that was better I now have a broken hand! Trying to keep up walking etc. but it is a bit difficult to be motivated when my hand has been sore.
Goals for the coming weeks are to get started with jogging - I'm thinking of trying the couch to 5k plan once my hand is a bit more healed. But I still feel a bit self conscious exercising in public so I'll just have to be brave and give it a go.
Good luck everyone and enjoy your bank holiday weekend.
Well this is my second week on my diet and have lost 4 pounds in total, although I think this week's weight loss has more to do with a 48hr bug than any determination on my part.
I have been weighing myself on a Monday but think I might change this to a Friday as i am quite a social person and the weekends are my weak times for drinking and the inevitable munch that goes with it.
At 5 feet 5 and now 10 stone 9 pounds I am only slightly overweight but am moving to an office based job this week whereas before I was running about a busy pub so could afford the treats I gave myself everyday. Last time that happened I put on 2 and a half stone and don't want to repeat that mistake.
Pretty busy over the next 6 weeks as as well as starting my new job I have a professional exam coming up and a number of seminars to attend in the evening after work. Even so I know it is time I incorporated the dreaded exercise into my everday life.
The thing I am most suprised at is how delicious the low calorie versions of my favourite takeaways are and I would definately recomend the Rosemary Connelly diet and fitness magazine to everyone for their delicious recipes, although I have yet to try to make the deserts, funnily enough I have not been craving them that much. The magazine encourages protion control and I am disgusted by how big my portions were before.
We are doing this as a family and my mum has lost 3 pounds and dad 2 pounds.
