Gym work out

Does anyone have experience of a weight/gym programme making tinnitus worse?

I’ve had T for many years, in various severity/volume. Just lately the pitch is high as is the volume and I’m trying to work out why.

I’m 67 but like to keep fit and have gone from quite a bit of running to gym work outs.

Thenk you

It's not clear if you are following a workout programme at home or attending a gym. If the latter, does the gym you attend have music blaring? If it does, I wonder if that could be the aggravating factor rather than the workout itself?

Good point. It does and it is quite loud at times. Thank you

Yes same here, but I'm younger, but find the same. I'm unsure if it's linked to neck/jaw/sinus issues (undiagnosed). I used to be purely cardio, but moved to a more mixed approach. Since putting resistance in I have found tinnitus worse. It may be a pure coincidence, as I now have to wear HA, but there's a part of me that is unsure that resistance training isn't having a part to play. However I've been told this is not the case by GP, ENT consultant etc. although by the sounds of others experiencing this there could be something undiagnosed here

It seems it’s when I have a good resistance session or push myself running. I get tension in back of head, neck and shoulders.

Thank you

Mine appears to get worse on shoulders day, especially overhead press. I may be in need of hearing aids, and as I say may be a coincidence that i started resistance training as my hearing was lost and T became worse

I will say I work out 6 days per week, and I've not stopped for any significant period of time to see if it made a difference. Maybe I should but wont

Hi,I find vitamin B12 tablets lower the volume of my tinnitus, feels like I have mucus in the inner ear, always crackling with high pitch noises, doctors not been any use but still going to gym 3 times a week so it's not going to beat me👍
