Hi - I have been diagnosed with TMJD - I have Tinnitus mostly in the right ear, but every so often I have ghastly whooshing in both ears very noisy and a feeling of pressure , is this possibly stress anxiety related? Or the TMJD effecting the ETs - I know it's a highly complex area, I have had this T since September, and ear pain for four years, but only recently had TMJD diagnosed from a CT scan, please any suggestions or what I can do? I am seeing a physio and picking up a mouthguard next week. Thank you.

Very noisy ears and pressure
ok, so an issue has been found which could cause your tinnitus, or could worsen it, and that’s being addressed. Great. Many people dont know what - if anything - caused their tinnitus.
Secondly, we all experience tinnitus in different ways and those ways can and do change. Your experience will not be the same as my experience or your neighbour’s experiences. Tinnitus is very common .
I’m convinced the more anxious you get, the better the tinnitus enjoys it. I see him as sitting just out of sight behind my shoulder, giggling inanely when I’m feeling under the weather.
Your tinnitus is very recent and it can and does take a long time for you to get used to it.
Here’s an analogy. Suppose you live in a quiet area and then you get a chance of a job with much more money but a long commute. You take the job and for the first few weeks you find the journey hard and boring. But within weeks it’s just part of your life and you’ve got used to it. Think of your tinnitus as something that you don’t like but which is part of your daily life and you just get to ignore it.
