Hi MuzSorry to hear about your Tinnitus first rule of Tinnitus is a quiet room is bad for Tinnitus you lay in bed just concentrating on the noise so you have trouble sleeping. The idea is to hibernate the Tinnitus noise there's different ways of doing this but what works for me is a mix sometimes I use apps which help white noise, inside of a airplane cabin, there's a big choice during this hot weather a fan helps the idea is your brain concentrates on the app noise eventually it loses interest in the Tinnitus noise and pushes it into the background if you decide this path and decide trying relaxation apps just play the app adjust the volume just below the Tinnitus noise hibernating the noise does take time so please be patient I wish you you will and a quiet night.

Hello Muz. Are the repetitive voices ones you recognize, or are they repeating phrases which mean something to you - or is it a different type of talking which doesn't mean anything to you?

Thank you for clarifying that Muz.

People do speak to us about a condition called Musical Tinnitus, which takes the form of people hearing repeated parts of music or tunes, which is linked quite often to issues like isolation and hearing loss. Speech is slightly different, but it would still be worth asking your GP to refer you to see an audiology team to assess your hearing or, potentially, a neurologist.

I understand what you’re saying but it not music or tunes it voices and they sound very faint but very real

Thank you, Muz - that raises an important point. The voices (and music) do seem real but are being presented to us by our auditory system when it identifies a change in the sounds it is expecting to receive from the world around us. It's worth seeing an audiologist to see if this is related to a change in your hearing, which can be helped and might resolve the problem for you.

They do say not to sleep with silence. I put on a radio or headphones. Maybe try a talk program ,then those voices are meant to be there.
