Labrynthitus earlier in the year, a few bad illnesses since then, covid positive 9 weeks ago. Dizziness and muffled ear now!

Earlier this year I had labrynthitus that lasted a good few months (3-4?). It felt like I was slightly tipsy and I was definitely clumsier than usual. At the end of summer I had a terrible chest infection, I dealt with that for about 10 weeks then almost straight after I got covid (double vaccinated, Pfizer)! The actual covid was fine, but afterwards the dizzy feeling came back then subsided. Not sure if it’s relevant but I went away on holiday (by plane) and during my hols, the dizziness started again but only in recent days have I been feeling a lot heavier in the head on one side. My right ear feels blocked and it feels like I’m leaning over to that side too. I’m not really sure what I’m asking here, maybe some support and if anyone else has gone through a similar feeling? It has been a rotten year for me with health and I just feel miserable to be completely honest.

Hi I’m so sorry to read how awful your symptoms sound. I have very similar and at this moment am experiencing severe tinnitus and vertigo and feeling constantly sick. Mine started after having my ears syringed about two years ago. My ears became so blocked and because of covid my appointments kept getting cancelled. When they were eventually syringed I experienced a loud ringing very soon after which obviously turned out to be tinnitus. I have suffered with labyrinthitis for some years and now get vertigo on a regular basis. Since the start of covid I’ve had many chest infections and courses of antibiotics then diagnosed with high BP. I had covid in June this year and like you it made my tinnitus and vertigo leap. I’ve now had the booster jab and the flu jab but felt terrible after them. I’ve also had problems with my blood pressure meds suffering terrible side effects. I now take Indapamide and at least some side effects have gone. I was suffering awful chest pains about 3 wks ago and my dr sent me to hospital after the ECG she gave me didn’t look good . After tests and chest X-ray the hospital said my heart was ok and I was suffering from inflamed chest bone and costochronditis and long covid from the first bout when we didn’t get tested. I still feel unwell and my dizziness and tinnitus plus chest pain all fierce at the moment. It’s a terrible time and I want you to know I sympathise with you. I’m thinking covid has a lot to do with all our ailments. I did look online for excercises to help with tinnitus which involved putting thumbs in ears and rubbing ear lobes and I truly found this helped . The excercises have a name and if I remember it I will let you know. I do hope you begin to feel better soon .

Your symptoms are very similar to what I have. I've not been diagnosed other than the tinitus but laberynthies seems a candidate.

My Tinnitus is constant. The possibly laberynthies side comes and goes. It can last for months or weeks or days.

I fight on :-)

Hope you feel better soon

Regards.
