Black-cat this sounds very hard to cope with and your doctor should be helping you. He or she should be following the guidance given by NICE (National Institute for Clinical Excellence) on tinnitus Please have a look at the British Tinnitus Association website for information about hyperacusis which I think you have And maybe give their helpline a ring Monday to Friday 9 to 5.
I’m guessing that the chemo has caused an upheaval in your brain and that your symptoms might well just settle down in due time.
I have the same problem, tinnitus in both ears now and super sensitive hearing. It’s making me depressed and dread going to bed at night. I don,t like going to the doctor but I will make an appointment because I,m at the end of my tether. I,m 74 and quite active but I don,t feel I want to go out because I feel so down. I can’t advise you sorry! But you,re not alone.
