that's good news! My recommendation is that you see an ear/nose/throat doctor (ENT) and/or audiologist to get a professional diagnosis. Your issue could simply be allergies.
Hello big brother. Tanner says you should see a doctor and I agree - certainly the dizziness could be one of several things so needs to be diagnosed and treated.I’ve had several bouts of dizziness over the years so I know how it is.
If you’ve a long wait before a GP appointment, please Google “vestibular rehabilitation exercises” and just do the ones where you move your head and eyes. This trains your brain to believe what your eyes are telling it: at the moment it’s believing your ears. And your ears are lying to you ……
You've got good responses here. I echo what they say. I also have tinnitus, vertigo and ear pressure which builds up in a cycle.
I usually lie down. Lately they've been milder. Mine's got worse after a bad chest and ear infection but I'd always had the T in the background for years.
Hopefully you'll get some answers from your doctor and push for a referral to ear, nose and throat. Let us know how you get on and hope it eases up.
I recently went through the same thing and took a look at what had changed , I stopped taking and Telfast I was taking daily for allergy and now it it is barely noticeable.you would be surprised how many medications can cause Tinnitus even prologued use of Valium etc
I have dizzy spells along with the tinnitus. The noise is constant and at times there is a full feeling in my right ear. I have had MRI scans, have done exercises for BPPV and don't take any medication. I do have anxiety which seems to be my real problem. Most of the time I cope with the tinnitus, but when my anxiety is high the dizziness is constant and feel fatigued.
I try to keep calm, get out for walks and spend time relaxing as much as I can.
Hi! I have been suffering from T for almost 16 years. At the very beginning I had a strong vertigo. Then, I had vertigos from time to time. What the doctors did in România:1. The Medicine Betaserc (24x 2 mg) daily. I think abroad, it is called Serc.
yes I do.....very fatigued, cannot stay awake in evening, no energy in morning and dizziness....like travel sickness. Then it goes for a few weeks....not the tinnitus, but the lethargy and the dizziness.
As I write this now I just want to go back to bed and its only 8.45 in the morning.
Hello and welcome although I’m sorry to welcome any here if that makes sense. In my 7-8 years of T I’ve never had any dizzy spells so I would agree will all that say to and see your health care professionals.
I’m pleased you are doing your best and managing your condition.
Hi bigbrother, how strange you should post about this now. I've had t for 2 months and no dizziness and then literally yesterday dizziness came out of nowhere. I had vertigo years ago but not had anything for a long time. I also have the same, very tired and want to go back to bed and I've only been up 3 hours. I've tried the manoeuvres shown on YouTube for ear crystals. They seem to help but only for about half an hour and then it returns. I hope yours doesn't last long.
My husband has T and also vestibular neuronitis, which was originally diagnosed when he would get so dizzy that he would have to crawl on the floor to get around the house! He wasn't given any medication for it - just had to wait for it to settle down. This was more than 6 years ago, and he still needs to be careful about turning too quickly or getting up too quickly. They never gave him exercises but maybe I should recommend those! Advice is definitely try to get an appt at ENT! Good luck!
Hi, when I had my inner ear event which resulted in my T I also got vertigo (BBPV), the meds my GP gave me for the vertigo didn't really help me (although I know others who have found these useful). Getting the ENT referral was essential in getting a correct diagnosis as this allowed me to put some actions in place to manage my T and vertigo. For my type of vertigo (BBPV) I found vestibuler exercises like Brandt Darrof and the Eply maneuver really helped control the dizziness but again you need a clinician to give you an diagnosis of your dizziness to get the correct treatment.
