Hi BarnabasI have been using the Oto app. I got it when I first developed tinnitus but found I managed with my sound ok so did not use. However I have been going back and working through the therapy as have been struggling with spikes. Not as often as I should be. I also use the stored sounds - as well as other apps. I should really be practising when everything is ok to be better helped when not ok!! Like now! I’m having CBT at moment but am finding it useful to dip into the app too. I like the voice - in the therapy. Plus can listen as many times as I want to. Most apps need subscribing to if you want more access. So it’s just choosing which works best for you. They do actively listen to feedback and make changes. And are developing more support etc.

Does that help?

Thanks Mags, that is very helpful. I did CBT earlier this year but am attracted by the CBT element in the app as I think I need to revisit CBT techniques following a bit of a relapse.

Hi

My NHS CBT is for 6 weeks with 3 already gone! - and so this morning I was revisiting sessions in the app as I know it’s the practise and reminders that I need. I’m not sure how much it costs now but I’m spending quite a bit on regular osteopath sessions for other issues. So actually when you look at a years subscription it’s all relative. You can listen to your choice of mask background during the therapy sessions too. If needed. At the volume you need.

What is the Oto App?

I believe it was created by an Army Doctor who wanted to make treatment more accessible. .

This is how the developers describe it:

“Oto is a digital health startup that helps people access evidence based therapy for tinnitus. Through a mobile app, Oto allows anyone to access all the therapies shown to be effective in tinnitus management”

Hi, Barnabas,

I've been using the Oto app for a while and found it really helpful. I like that the sessions are brief and to the point and that you can dip in and out whenever you've got a few minutes. It's certainly helped me think about things in a more positive way.

Respectfully submitted,

Keoni

Thanks for endorsement of Oto which I’ve now looked at. Looks like Oto is offering discounts on their annual subscriptions … now $49 from email just received. Will sign up at this price.
