Hi all, I hope everyone is well. I have had tinnitus for about a month now since having my Pfizer vaccine. Anyone else had the same issue? Struggling at the moment to adapt to this. Any advice would be welcomed. Thank you

Hello PCarter. Are you familiar with the British tinnitus association? Their website has a section on vaccines and tinnitus.

It might be wise to bear in mind that anybody who finds an improvement in their tinnitus after vaccination would never bother to report such on the ‘yellow card scheme’. It certainly made no difference to mine. Often there’s no discernible cause for T. It just turns up and tries to make your life a misery.

Aside from that, are you getting any help for your T? Other than posting here! You might like to read an inspirational post from Allgie a couple of days ago, he has gone from despair to coping well. Just realising that you’re out along might be helpful, everyone here on this forum has gone through/ is going through suffering from T.

Adapting to T can be a hard slog, there’s no magic pill sadly (and don’t believe any adverts that tell you they can cure it). There’s a lot of help on the website of the British tinnitus Association

Hi PCarter

I can appreciate that tinnitus is worrying, especially when you are new to it and wondering how you will ever habituate to what seems like an oppressive sound.

It does become better, so it's important to look at some of the advice that forum members will provide - see Rosie below - and to make use of some of the resources on our website to give yourself good, unbiased information about the condition. Don't place too much stock in any online horror stories that you might come across - not everyone's experience of tinnitus is a tale of woe.

I would echo Rosie in saying that I noticed no change in tinnitus at all after having the Astra Zeneca vaccine, but then mine pre-dates yours, so I've had longer to live with it.

Hi Carter and welcome to the site, I would like to report that I have had tinnitus for a while now and after having a pfizer vaccine, for the first time, it gave me some slight relief, it was great for a couple of days I didnt report it on here as there is already far too much false hope put on here and didnt want to build peoples hopes up, particularly when you consider many trials and tests have to clarify and we are all different, so my advice is, hopefully it could settle down for you personally. I pray for all sufferers every single night. Keep well and safe x.

Thank you for the messages, yeah I never had tinnitus before the vaccine and it seems that this has triggered it as it started 2 days after. Unless of course it is a huge coincidence.

Always a risk taking a vaccine that took such a short time to produce unfortunately. That's the world we live in.

Kind regards

Sorry to hear your story with tinnitus. I have had tinnitus for 5 years due to a middle Inner Ear infection. Noise has increased tremendously after having had the two Pheizer vaccines. One of my problems are dysfunction of the eustacian tubes.

Hope your tinnitus will settle down.

An ENT specialist has told me to use otovent to clear the middle ear incase of a blockage or dysfunction. Have u tried that for yours?

I have tried otovent with no succes, instead I use a neti pot and Eustaci, which help me to unclog my tubes. But only for the minute I do it. The tubes clog up again, right away. I also use Avamys, a steroid spray.

Sorry to hear you are suffering, I’m pretty sure the vaccine spiked my T (Pfizer 1st Jab) along with a bucket load of stress along the way. BUT it can and will get better - not the sound as such but how your mind perceives it, it takes time and you have to stop feeding the T by constantly monitoring it and focusing on it (not easy in the early days). Please read my posts, I was absolutely broken a few months back and I’ve gotten my life back, im getting back to the things I love. Speak to your GP - seek support, be kind to your self and you can get there. ❤️
