Hey don't you dare say that. I have coped for 30 years and you will cope do not be anywhere where there is silence. You need sounds to distract the brain from the tinnitus otherwise it will drive you mad. Consider yourself told off. As I am an old bid I can tell you the , but I am sending you supportive hugs

I feel your pain I'm going through the same thing for three years I was able to get hearing aids with music to help a little bit. But sometimes it just gets louder I try to stay busy I'm trying try not to think about it but sometimes it's hard to do that.

Hey it’s gonna be okay. Try nit to focus on it too much and distract urself. Cutting down tea\coffee has helped me a lot. LIKE A LOT. Idk if it’ll work for you or not but give it a try. Also you can talk to me anytime you want. Always here to help

I have coped (with varying degrees of success) for 40 years - it isn't the same for everyone but I too can't abide anywhere where there is silence. There will be times when your tinnitus tries to beat you, but don't let it get the better of you - you will find ways of coping, we all have very difficult times - I only joined this forum a week ago and have found it so reassuring to know that so many people are in the same situation. I won't start jotting down all the suggestions which might help - the BTA website has some fabulous fact sheets which I have downloaded. You are not alone, always feel free to contact any of us who are also struggling.

Hang on in there Robert1961. You are not alone here with your T sounds for sure. As others have said keep yourself distracted as much as possible like I do. Going out for walks is good for me and when at home I always have the radio on at just the right level of sound to combat the T sounds. At night in bed listen to free sounds on apps like Chillax, Sounds Oasis and Atmosphere. Obtain hearing aids with masking sounds fitted too as these help me greatly at home when it’s quiet. Good luck!

I can only continue doing what I’m able to at the moment and if it keeps the T monster at bay then it’s fine for me!

Hi glad to hear that can I ask why sounds do you hear mine is like a a loud fridge freezer buzzing I think it's gret to support each other

My T sounds like compressed air or gas escaping almost like a hissing noise hence my username here. It’s bearable but annoying at times and it can flare up on occasions. T is with me 24/7 so no or little respite apart from my constant use of distractions as stated before.

Same hear 24 7 if I hear off any thing that's comes along I let you know and everyone what gets me is you hear of someone claims a cure but it's a con just to make money I don't mind pat in if true aa I would give a lottery win just to get rid of this

I’ve kept myself busy today so far as I’ve been washing and ironing while listening to radio. Raining steady here all day so far but I’m off to Thailand tomorrow to visit my granddaughter and her family. I’m hoping my T doesn’t bother me on long haul flights and that I get some sleep on board too. It’s a big wish of a miracle cure we all want and hopefully it’ll arrive soon as it was a peaceful retirement I had planned for all those years ago and it isn’t happening yet!
