I’m sure my T is getting louder yes I can live with it just. But what scares me is just how loud can it get. I think I’ve got it in both ears but at the moment I can’t tell because my head is just one big scream. I’ve tried everything no luck doctors useless hospital useless looks like no end to the tunnel. My hearing aids do help a bit but my biggest fear is how loud can I put up with. Sorry guys for spouting out but I cannot talk to anyone else as only you lot know what I’m on about. Plus it does help to talk even if I don’t know who I’m talking to. Cheers guys.
Not just a spike. : I’m sure my T is getting... - Tinnitus UK
Not just a spike.
Hang on in there mate as most of us here share your feelings of being left to deal with our T alone. It’s no fun for sure. My T is in both ears of equal volume whether high or low. I can assure you the low volume days are few and far between. All we can do is keep ourselves busy to minimise the effects of spike periods. As long as it’s still summer we have a chance of getting out more to do things to distract us from our T. It’s the winter I fear as I’ll be least active then. Best of luck!
Sorry to hear that you're struggling at the moment.
If you do want a chat with someone who understands, our Helpline 0800 018 0527 (Monday-Friday 9am-5pm) (outside the UK you can call +44 (0)114 250 9922) can also listen and give you support.

I sympathise completely as I have similar problems, it goes up and down in volume for no apparent reason.
I've had a few suggestions as to coping methods, however everyone's
tinnitus is different in volume, frequency etc, so no one cure fits all unfortunately.
Mine was caused by one event that damaged my inner ear, so I know it will never cease.
Have found NHS help useless, haven't got money spare to throw around at it etc (would likely be wasted anyway) so learning to cope by using distraction techniques - music, sheer pig-headedness in trying to ignore it and not drag me down etc.
As it's always there in your head, you can't escape it, but it's not always all bad.
