Need help with understanding my daily 2:30 pm episodes

Hey everyone,

I've been having a difficult time lately.

I started getting these episodes around 2:30 pm where I'd become blurred out, fatigued, breathless, puffy, shaky, dehydrated etc. This has been going for about 6 months daily, it's exhausting, I have no life after 2 pm.

I take 2.5 Armour + 7.5 Thybon T3.

My results are hovering around ft4 35% ft3 79%.

I thought splitting the dose would help as my ft3 peak after dose is about 295% range.

I am now taking 1.75 grains +5 t3 morning 8:30 am and 0.75 grains of NDT + 2.5 t3 afternoon 2:30 pm. I am still having horrible episodes daily.

In my previous post there is a detail bloodwork, but essentially everything has been ruled out the last few years and all that is causing the havoc is my thyroid.

If anybody has any ideas, I'd be grateful.

I don't know if I should split the dose even more (1.5 gr AM and 1 gr PM or 1.25 gr AM and 1.25 gr PM). I feel bad on splitting I won't lie. Few hours after splitting yesterday my face was so puffy it was awful. Ft3 went up after splitting from 79 to 85% if that's any help.

Thank you!

This is familiar, I split my Thybon T3 and have half at 2-3pm now and that gives me enough ooomph to get to bedtime.

Is there a way to raise your FT4 without overdoing the FT3? 🌱

Edit afterthought… diet related if I eat carbs for breakfast or lunch I am floored by a blood sugar crash, only have carbs in the evenings now and my blood sugar remains stable. Daughter just tried this and has transformed her afternoons. I am a sugar dodger too. Although dark chocolate and the odd teaspoon of maple syrup is allowed 🤣 I’m not a complete angel 😇

Thank you Regenallotment 🤗

I could add Levo, but I've done that in the past, my ft4 went up to 75%, it was awful, i was only able to tolerate 6.25 t4 with 2.5 grains of Armour😳 and still very hypo.

It's like clockwork everyday, and don't know why splitting doesn't help?

Just a thought I was so shocked when I read the carbs you eat are metabolised via the adrenal glands !

That explains a lot of I’ve understood it. Fatigue and carb equals extra fatigue 👀

Yes correct if you have endocrine issues !

I have the same issue, I take Armour but I added in tirosint (levo) ontop as my t4 was just sitting too low and I couldn’t raise the armour.

Cortisol issues, it being low. Is always a problem around the 2pm time as well.

I would consider blood sugar, are you having a lot of carbs for breakfast and lunch?

I don't, I eat a lot of protein, this happens regardless my diet and always check blood sugar when I get this episode, thank you though!

I use a Berberine supplement from Time Health as I have problems with blood sugar control. I’m not diabetic but carbs can cause symptoms for me. Berberine calms it all down nicely. Might be worth a try. Time health are pricey but they have few extra ingredients.

I have berberine at home, but unfortunately is not that, but thank you!

Just butting in about Berberine as I have been thinking about trying it. Dr Westin Childs has an article (plus a youtube) about berberine hcl and dihydroberberine, apparently the latter is much better absorbed plus you need to take lower dose. Super Botanic do 60 capsules for £26 so maybe cheaper if taking fewer?? and no nasty fillers.... Bertwills tagging you too in case of interest. Total sympathy with the afternoon crash, mine improved after about 4-5 weeks of adding a quarter then another quarter grain of Armour, don't know how long you have been taking etc but hang in there!

When did you last have bloods done and what were the results?

Last week, my tsh is 0.008, ft4 35%, ft3 79%, taken at 9:30 AM, last dose of Armour and T3 taken at 3 PM (0.75 grains and 2.5 T3). I take 1.75 grains and 5 T3 at 8:30 AM.

That does seem a bit unbalanced but I cannot comment or advise so maybe other more knowledgeable folk on here could?? 🙂

Hi, I would raise Armour and lower Thybon + split the dose. I personally split my dose into four (one hour before each meal + at bedtime)

Thank you marinria 🤗 how's that working for you?

Splitting works much better than taking it all in one dose

May I ask how you felt when you took a one full dose?
