tsh ‘suppressed’ but I want to stay on 125mcg levo. Thoughts?

Morning all!

Just had results back from gp thyroid panel (so only tsh and t4).

23rd April

Tsh: 0.2 (range 0.27-4.2)

T4: 15.9 (10.5-24.5)

I’d asked for an increase in levo from 100-125mcg and had been taking the increased dose for around 10 weeks when I had this test. Here are my previous results when I was only on 100 (which is been on for about a year post giving birth):

6th Feb

Tsh: 3.44

T4: 15.0 (same ranges as above)

As you can see my tsh was rubbish on only 100mcg and I had symptoms (fatigue, muscle stiffness, joint pain, dry, dry, dry skin). My symptoms have somewhat improved in the higher dose but gp doesn’t want me to take it. My T4 is pretty much the same so could I use that as my argument? I know my conversion is not great as my last medichecks (about 6months ago) showed my T3 sitting somewhere in the middle of the range. My ferritin also not amazing at 62 but I’m working on that. Nothing else was tested this time but previous medickecks showed everything else pretty good (vitamins etc).

Will starting to conceive again in a couple of months and really want to have my dose right so I don’t miscarry early again.

Any advice appreciated 😊

And there's absolutly no reason you shouldn't stay on that dose apart from your GP's ignorance. Your FT4 is only 38.57%! And it's the FT4 number that is important when trying to conceive. We really don't care about a low TSH - and it's not even suppressed. Just slightly below range.

You should certainly refuse to reduce your dose - in fact, what you need is an increase. Your pituitary would see to be a bit sluggish, but doctors know nothing about that.
