Would really appreciate recommendation for books linking autoimmune disease and trauma. Somebody I care about wants to read about it.

Thank you. 😊

"When The Body Says NO" Exploring the stress disease connection. Is available on Amazon.com

An e-book not just on trauma but more of someone's journey

This book is available free and is yet a work in progress. I must confess I have some familiarity with the author.

If something isn't blue, it can't be clicked.

Copy it and search. That usually finds what was posted. But I have updated the link so it converts to an active link..

Look up Dr Sara Gottfried she has Fb, Instagram website and she has new book out soon.

She’s linking trauma amongst other things that exacerbate or bring on autoimmune disorders.

My daughter is a Psychologist and she is looking into this for me.

The Body Keeps the Score: Brain, Mind, and Body in the Healing of Trauma

Book by Bessel van der Kolk

Is something I was told to read from more factual point.

~Interesting you quote this book CoeliacMum1 - I am 110 on a wait list at our local Library even though I am told they have 12 copies - very powerful book I'm told and recommended for trauma of any kind ~

Its currently on Amazon under £12 eBay under £8 .

My daughter rates it as a good book.

I recently saw that Dr Gottfried recently join the dots on mental health and physical well being, of course can’t rule out the female swings in hormones contributing too… she’s a gynaecologist, hormone specialist…speaks a lot of sense… she also Hashimoto’s sufferer.

~She sounds most interesting - I should have stated it was 2nd author you quoted - The Body Keeps the Score or similar like - The Body Keeps the Memory? by Dr Bessel van der Kolk~

Yes I realise which book you was on about the other book isn’t out until 12th March …The Autoimmune cure.

Book

More about hypersensitivity illness than autoimmunity necessarily, although the two overlap, Micki Rose's 'Healing Plan, Recovery From Chronic Illness' - the book is not easy to find and expensive now but you can buy the updated version (Healing Plan) through her website. This is the link to her ACE and trauma page - can increase risk of autoimmunity by 70 % or more purehealthclinic.co.uk/heal... The book link is at the bottom of the page. Best wishes

The reviews seem somewhat mixed! Think I'll stick with Micki.

That is the nature of personal opinion and experience, reviews will always be mixed.
