hi
would this test also provide results to determine autoimmune conditions such as Graves’ disease?
Thanks matty
Test includes
TSH, FT4, FT3, TT4, Thyroid Peroxidase Antibodies, Thyroglobulin Antibodies, Ferritin, Folate, Total and Active Vitamin B12, C Reactive Protein & Vitamin D (25-OH), Cortisol, Magnesium
Thyroid Peroxidase Antibodies, Thyroglobulin Antibodies, will show if thyroid autoimmune is occurring, but they would likely be positive with both Autoimmune thyroiditis (Hashimoto’s) and with Graves. (Hypo & hyper)
Graves antibodies testing is expensive / takes a long time to process & requires venous draw. Medichecks does have it. TRab or TSI antibodies.
I would test function first. If TSH low & FT4 / FT3 high then take next steps. Doctor should refer if showing hyper results?
(Special Instructions: Fasting not required. 8am - 10am sample required) BUT We would recommend test are taken at 09.00 fast overnight. If you take replacement, delay until after draw & avoid biotin 3/7 before test.
Do you suspect you have a thyroid issue or do you have a diagnosed condition?
Hi thanks for you reply, the above was done in 2022 but my health has declined in recent months and I am looking into my thyroid again. I suspect an issue due to how cold I suddenly have become and also how gritty and blood shot my eyes are?!
