Has anyone experienced high blood pressure and do you know if this is from too much medication or a hypo symptom?
I am homozygous dio2 and T4 on last bloods was 15 (10-22) and t3 was 6.6 (3.1-6.8). At the time I was on 87.5 T4 and 20 T3 but I had only been on the 20 T3 for a few weeks when my endo did bloods at a last minute appointment.
I am now taking 87.5 T4 and increased from 25 to 30 T3 6 days ago as I still felt exhausted and poor stamina / walking and want to be able to use my body and walk say 1-4 hours and be able to exercise.
However today my blood pressure has been high - 132/87.
Does anyone have any advice if this will settle?
Thanks

When I’ve made adjustments too quickly (both increasing or decreasing thyroid medication) then my blood pressure has elevated. I now only adjust Lio by 2.5 mcg per day until well tolerated. The advantage of going slowly is that you don’t miss your ‘sweet spot’ where you feel most well.
First thing to say—that’s not especially high blood pressure, so don’t panic. Obviously it’s a little higher than ideal but it’s a long way from being a major issue, particularly as there’s a potential explanation here—your body adjusting to an increased level of thyroid meds.
You could drop back a bit and increase more slowly—25 to 30mcg of T3 is actually quite a large increase. Plus it might be that you’d have benefitted from raising Levo rather than T3.
Personally though and given you’re already a week into this, I’d stick with it for a few more days to see if the symptoms settle. Unfortunately, you won’t get an instant change in stamina—that takes time to improve. Hang on in there. Sadly, there’s no rushing this, as Buddy195 has said.
