Thyroid function results

My most recent ranges are as follows:-

TSH 1.04

FT4 21.3

Any comments please?

Those numbers are results, not ranges. And, we need the range for the FT4, but looks high. TSH is OK but you can't tell much from that. What's missing is the FT3. Difficult to comment without that because we don't have the full picture.

Right, so your FT4 is quite high but your TSH isn't correspondingly low. So, the odds are, you're a poor converter and your FT3 is low. But, as I said, we need the FT3 tested to get the full picture.

Hi JacquelineH,My last results were very similar for TSH with a lower T4 at about 19. GP wishes to discuss. My TSH has consistently been about 1.0 or slightly above. In 2015 TSH increased massively to around 12 three tests in a row then dropped back to the usual range for me. A Consultant at the time (NHS) thought this increase was due to over-suppementation of T4. I think otherwise.....

I personally do not think it is anything to be concerned about but then I am not a clinician. Your clinician may attempt to reduce your T4 as is appears to be above the high point of the normal range.
