Well as you can see by the title I have been offered a trial of T3 at long last. After my appointment with a new registrar a month ago I had my bloods done the following day as requested. All done following the usual protocol. My TSH was 0.7 T4 20 & T3 3.3. Pretty much the same as when I saw the first Endocrinologist 18 months ago. I then received a follow up appointment for the end of January 24 which I took as positive thinking I would be having the 2 month trial as we had discussed with the January appointment as the follow up. I called the secretary last week as I had still not heard back from them & I received a phone call from the registrar last Friday to say based on my bloods & symptoms he was happy to offer a 6 month trial of T3!! I had expected a 2 month trial but he said that wasn't long enough. What a long fight this has been!! I asked him how I would get the prescription would it be my GP or hospital. He wasn't exactly sure but said he would sort it so I have no idea when I will get it & hopefully there will be some instructions too. (He is new to the hospital) I just hope the fight has been worth it & I start to feel human again. Thank you all so much for your wonderful help in getting this far. There is no way I would have got here without you.

Thank you. I will definately need some help once it is prescribed. I dont know exactly what worked but he was just a registrar not yet fully qualified so I was sure he would ask his boss & I would get turned down. I went with so much paperwork but as soon as he said I would possibly benefit from a trial of T3 I just shut up. Didn't want to push any further. I would happily rent hubby out as he often says the wrong thing but I think he's fed up of all the hospital appointments he already takes me to so my guess is his fees would be too high!
