Can anyone remind me please why it is necessary to take a full Bcomplex if one often has low folate and also struggles to maintain B12 ?

I went on holiday recently and forgot to take my BComplex but had my Folate/B12 drops with me so just took those as a stopgap. I actually felt better than when I was on the BComplex. Much better in fact. When I take the complex I often get a lot of joint aches and other niggly symptoms. No such thing with just the drops, just feeling really positive and energetic.

Is is necessary to have all of them? If so, pls explain someone and I will revert to them.

Many thanks.

ps. my diet is good, lots of healthy fish, veg, fruit etc and a bit of red meat twice weekly

The reason to take a B complex is because they all work in partnership and if one is low then the B system won't work well.

It could be that you're intolerant to an additive in the B complex.

It could also be that being on holiday made you feel better with less stress than usual and possibly warmer weather.

Do you have a copy of your latest blood results that you can share with us? You are legally entitled to a printed copy of your results, ask at GP reception. In England you can get the NHS app and ask for permission to see your blood results on that by asking at GP’s reception.

The other change while you were feeling better was increased, regular supplementation of B12, a very important vitamin. Thank you for posting. (I'm reminded to regularly take B12, especially as levels tend to be sub-optimum). May you be well.
