Rash on neck

Hi all, was wondering if anyone had experienced a rash on their neck where their thyroid is. I have hashimotos and am on regular levothyroxine. But recently my thyroid has been looking inflamed and I have been getting a small red rash just on the thyroid area of my neck. I have 6 monthly check ups with an endocrinologist but trying to work out if its worth getting checked out before my next app is due.

Yes I have a red rash that looks like the thyroid gland it started with a burning sensation this was three years ago and I still have it I have asked my gp and they said that it’s nothing serious but he has sent a referral for a scan of my thyroid I’m still waiting for this but I have gone from a graves diagnosis to a sub clinical hypothyroidism diagnosis since this happened and even though I am now on levothyroxine I still haven’t felt well since then

I have Hashimoto, on 50 mcg levothyroxine, I have been getting hives after dinner recently. My pcp asked me to see a allergist. They say I have no food allergies, to take Zyrtec when hives flare up. No one can find the reason for red rash on arms, hives sometimes near eyes. I understand this can happen if the thyroid dose needs adjusting. My endo data dose is fine. U may ask endo to look at your labs & dose.

You could also look into a low histamine diet. Hives are linked to histamine lvels in the body.

50mcg is only starter dose levothyroxine

Likely not on high enough dose levothyroxine

Hi NatJane, sorry to hear you’re having problems. What test did you have that showed your thyroid to be enflamed? Have you spoken to your GP about the rash.,
