Shp,

Remember you need to investigate any suspected infection and remove the source of gut irritation, eg gluten, dairy, etc. Otherwise, your leaky gut will never fully recover.

For many of us years of low thyroid hormone resulted in low gut motility and gastric acid. Optimising thyroid hormones gets things moving again but isn’t enough to address infections such as SIBO, H.Pylori and candida that might have meanwhile set in.

You may also need some digestive enzymes and gastric acid (Betaine HCL + pepsin). I also had to supplement ox bile for a year until bile production righted itself.

Bone broth is really calming and can help leaky gut. Also a strictly gluten free diet.
