Hi - I saw my GP yesterday and he did listen I guess! My main points were need for optimal levels of vitamins and minerals; PPIs affecting absorption; High T4 and low T3 signalling poor conversion.
He said I could increase VitD3 to 2000iu and that a Vit B complex would be a good idea - I'm also adding in Magnesium and investigating D3 with K2 (any suggestions for good source of these?)
He agreed that stopping the PPI was worth a try and as I've been taking an H2 Blocker at night to see how my ongoing gastritis is with the change. Hopefully that will improve absorption.
He didn't see anything wrong with my results TSH in range but T4 way over and T3 very low - however he agreed to order a NHS blood test for TSH T3 and T4 whilst adding the proviso that the lab may not comply if the TSH was okay - he did add bits to the request form so fingers crossed.
He did say that the practice follows the NICE guidelines so I mentioned that there may be some leeway with these - and that I feel awful so something's not right - I reeled off all of my symptoms!
I came away initially feeling frustrated at not being fully 'heard' but on reflection he was listening just starting from a different place than myself!
Also applied for online access to bloods which I will look at and chart so I have a bit more of an idea of what's been happening since 2016 (they must have automated records then as there's nothing before)
Thanks to everyone who responded to my previous posts - this forum is such a help.
