Ferritin is just about right for a male - half way through that range is 215.
Testing magnesium is unreliable with a serum test and most of us are low in magnesium.
Cortisol is high. I will tag Hidden as she is good with cortisol blood tests.
Vit D is OK although the Vit D Society and Grassroots Health recommend a level of 100-150nmol with a recent blog post on Grassroots Health recommending a level of 125nmol.
If you are taking D3 are you also taking its important cofactors magnesium and Vit K2-mk7?
B12 works out at 929pg/ml which is fine as according to Sally Pacholock's book "Could it be B12" it is recommended that B12 be 900-1000pg/ml.
Folate is higher than their machine is calibrated to measure so you don't really know what level it is. However, it is recommended to be at least half way through range. I wonder if you normally supplement with B Complex, if so you could cut this down to a couple of times a week.
Raised TPO antibodies suggest Hashimoto's, not sure if you already knew this.
TSH good.
FT4 is 92% through range.
FT3 is just 37.57% through range suggesting poor conversion of T4 to T3.
As nutrient levels are good you may benefit from the addition of some T3 to your Levo.
you got me smiling here SeasideSusie! Yup finally got it right! I haven’t taken supplements since my last blood test about 6 months ago.Just tried to use my diet for nutrients.Eating and drinking natural probiotics.I was eating a lot of fish and especially cockles which are supposedly about 3000% of your RDA of B12 so that might be the reason. Is my folate to high? Hey once again girl thank you for replying and advising! That gives me hope I can get myself back to my cheeky happy go lucky self again.Knew there was something wrong somewhere as we know who we are and what we can/have coped with then to not be able to function properly? Thank you so much again Susie!
Was thinking that myself SlowDragon.I’ve been trying to stick gluten free but it’s very difficult working on construction sites away from home.So that could explain the anxiety palpitations depression and a few host of other things? Main point at the moment is constant tinnitus, ear & teeth pain, nasal pain which along with headaches I’m finding it difficult every day.I’m assuming it’s all connected!? So the question is if I source T3 on my own would this help? I’ve not relationship or trust with my doctors anymore! Thanks so much for you reply and help SlowDragon I very much appreciate it!
Thorne Basic B is a recommended option that contains folate, but is large capsule. You can tip powder out if can’t swallow capsule
Jarrow B right is another option that had folate in
IMPORTANT......If you are taking vitamin B complex, or any supplements containing biotin, remember to stop these 7 days before ALL BLOOD TESTS , as biotin can falsely affect test results
Hey SlowDragon I don’t take any supplements anymore I just try through my diet and especially with my digestion.Eat and drink natural probiotics.I honestly don’t grind my teeth as I hardly sleep and would notice. And when I do I’m told I don’t and also my dentist says my teeth show no signs of grinding.
Sorry for the slow reply been in hospital for spinal surgery! What time of day was your bloods taken? Although it is on the high side, are you on an oestrogen contraceptive pill, HRT or Biotin found in some supplements, that can give high cortisol results? Are you experiencing weight gain, especially around the abdomen, easy bruising, high BP, round flushed face & insomnia?
Morning Pauline hope your doing well after surgery!? Wondering if you could possibly comment on my cortisol results taken on Tuesday morning 9.20am? I have just received the results
Hi, 356nmol/Ls is a satisfactory result for that time of day. I'm doing okay, would like to be better but hey! This chart shows what normal cortisol levels should be.
