Melatonin does anyone take before bed to aid sleep
Yes I do.
I would suggest you don't start with 2mg. Start with less and build up if you feel that it's necessary.
I have taken as much as 3mg (3,000mcg) which a practioner recommended, but I have found through trying different brands and doses that a 300mcg capsule is enough for me.
What i ordered were 3mg tablets so not sure what to do now
Where do you get these from, I have awful insomnia and wonder if melatonin could help me?
I use a magnesium Lotion containing melatonin obtained from Good Health Naturally. I rub it in at night before bed and feel it working within a short time. Sometimes I have to apply again, but most times I go off to sleep like a baby!
I have and they work great occasionally I found. I take 3mg but with consistent uses they make me unmotivated and down. There is a free NHS sleep clinic app. It is much more beneficial and tailored to your issues with support as well. app.sleepstation.org.uk/das.... Hope this helps.

Hi there, I have been taking melatonin tablets now for a couple of years and the tablet is called Circadin 2mg prolonged release. Was taking 2 tablets in the evening around 9.30pm but have recently had to go back on Propranolol and it's side effects are causing me a problem with sleeping, so upped to 3 tablets nightly. Cannot get this off prescription in UK,so need to ask your doctor to prescribe. It has certainly helped me but it's a trial and error thing finding what time is best to take them. Hope you get your sleep sorted out, it's no joke trying to cope with life when you're not sleeping.
I tried melatonin because it works good for a friend. But it did nothing for me. I am having good results from using 5HTP. It also helps with my anxiety.
It is not available to buy in this country but not it is not illegal to import it or bring it into the country, so you can find some sites in another country that will send it to the UK.
I used to buy melatonin in the US when travelling there for work. Some were slow release 10mg capsules but I didn’t feel they had any effect at all. I take 5HTP now and they help.
