Still getting clicking / knocking when swallowing

Hi,

I posted a few months ago about a clicking in my throat in centre of my neck. I have increased my levo, I have taken B12 and iron In between and my hair is growing back but my throat is getting worse now double clicking.

It feels as if my thyroid has grown in and rubbing as I swallow.

I've been on a 70% plant diet nearly gluten free only the minor bits in sauces

Also my face is like a tomato across nose and cheeks

Any idea anyone

Ali

Well you need FULL thyroid and vitamin testing done

How much levothyroxine are you currently taking

Do you always get same brand of levothyroxine

Which brand

Exactly what vitamin supplements are you currently taking

For full Thyroid evaluation you need TSH, FT4 and FT3 plus both TPO and TG thyroid antibodies tested.

Also EXTREMELY important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 at least annually

Low vitamin levels are extremely common, especially if you have autoimmune thyroid disease (Hashimoto's) diagnosed by raised Thyroid antibodies

Recommended on here that all thyroid blood tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and before eating or drinking anything other than water .

Last dose of Levothyroxine 24 hours prior to blood test. (taking delayed dose immediately after blood draw).

This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip)

Is this how you do your tests?

Private tests are available as NHS currently rarely tests Ft3 or thyroid antibodies or all relevant vitamins

Thriva Thyroid plus antibodies and vitamins By DIY fingerpick test

Hi,

I am trying to book a private test. I just wanted to know if it is your thyroid or vitamins does they swallowing improve once levels are achieved

I rang my surgery and they didn't really want to know.
