Your ferritin is low in range although your other results don't suggest iron deficiency anaemia. You can help raise your level by eating liver regularly, maximum 200g per week due to it's high Vit A content, also liver pate, black pudding, and including lots of iron rich foods in your diet
List any that you may have to discuss with your doctor and ask for further testing for B12 deficiency.
Don't supplement with folic acid/methylfolate/B Complex/B12 until further testing has been carried out, it will mask signs of B12 deficiency and skew results.
You need Vit D testing, muscle pain can be low Vit D and as your other nutrient levels are low then it's possible your Vit D is too.
Do you have Hashimoto's, that can cause gut/absorption problems which can lead to low nutrient levels and deficiencies.
Thank you, I really appreciate your reply. I’m glad to have the viapath advice too. I’m scared my dr will just dismiss me. But sure that’s hardly worse than the way I feel. I plan to have vit D and antibodies tested next, I’m trying to have bloods done as I can afford them. I wouldn’t be surprised if I’ve had no antibodies tested for thyroid this25 yrs.
I love pate, so I must make some. Yet again thank you 😊
Suin, I clicked back to look at your thyroid results. You have room for an increase on those. It's okay to take the freeT3 all the way up to the top of the range and even a little over if symptoms justify it.
But at the same time follow SeasideSusie's advice to address all these low vitamins. These will be causing symptoms and it's common to have low vitsmins after years of undertreated hypothyroid.
Thank you, I have had T3 slightly above range before and T4 was almost too of range too. I still didn’t feel too notch.
I guess coming off the fluoxetine must have changed my thyroid levels or who knows? My hormones are possibly changing themselves too? Or antibodies are maybe high. Much thanks Again, I really appreciate your reply xx
I think the ideal is to have your thyroid results checked every 6 months to a year and the dose adjusted just as you would when you first start. Quite a few things can alter how much hormone is needed, sometimes there is no cause or reason.
It's probably not good to have both freeT4 and freeT3 all the way at the top. Too much freeT4 can hang around and cause its own problems that result in less T3 getting into cells.
But having vitamin deficiencies will also stop the hormone working properly, so it is definitely worth working on those, too.
