Cinacalcet

How do people get on with cinacalcet. It makes my wife quite sick. She has primary hypothyroidism.

Apparently it is a medication to reduce calcium. We are in Scotland. She has been in hospital twice because of high calcium.

My husband takes it as he has secondary hyperparathyroidism, doesn't cause him any problems.

Tht is not a thyroid hormone or anything to do with the thyroid - it is prescribed for parathyroid problems to decrease calcium. In spite of the name, the parathyoid gland and completely different from the thyroid. You'd do better asking on a forum dedicated to parathyroid problems.
