IMMUNOLOGY

THYROID ANTIBODIES .

Thyroid Peroxidase Antibodies * 80.4 IU/mL 0 - 34

I am taking Levothyroxine 75mcg daily and 10,000 units of Vit D weekly.

Does the presence of Thyroid Peroxidase antibodies confirm Hashimoto's? Also would this account for the raised CRP?

I was hoping to feel better as my TSH dropped but I really haven't noticed any difference and my GP thinks 75mcg of levothyroxine is sufficient. Any advice please?

Yes, you do have Hashi's, and yes, that could account for the high CRP.

I think you could really do with a dose increase. Your results aren't screaming hypo, but could be better. If your doctor won't play ball, buy your own. :)

Greygoose. Thank you. I have a good GP but I think I found his Achilles heel! TSH was 6.7 so definitely lowering. Just so disappointed that I still feel crap. Got a pain clinic appointment on Thursday. If they tell me to go off and meditate I will scream lol

It may be lowering, but it's still much too high for you to feel well. You need an increase in dose.

Not many GPs know anything about thyroid.
