Took Starpowa gummies for a good few months, not bad but decided to give Alflorex a go.
How long before I see the benefits? Not too bad for the first week but then got some bloating and edging towards constipation now.
Could it be the switch from one probiotic to another and should I give it more time ?

Yeah I was fine for the first few days but then my symptoms kicked in. Going to persist for a bit longer if I can because of the good reviews.

Yes, I too got constipation after a couple of months on Alflorex, but decided that was better than IBS-D. I did try reducing the dosage, but that caused the IBS-D to resurface. According to the manufacturers, this species of bifidobacterium does not colonise the gut, so you have to keep taking it. It actually works by helping the other "good" bacteria thrive in the gut, rather than being part of the normal microbiome; having followed the Zoe programme, it seems that no-one knows why this is, but many of the "good" bacteria in fermented foods act in the same way.
Yeah I’m gonna try and do the 3 months but if symptoms stay the same I’m going back on my previous probiotics.
