Finally had my annual gastro appointment. It was a bad line and he talked very fast. Seemed like he was reading a script and was hardly listening to me as he had already made up his mind. He said all my tests were normal and I have IBS. I already know that! He said I have a healthy bowel. By now I was too flustered to think straight, I didn't get the chance to say How can you say that? When my colonoscopy showed an ulcer in depending bowel, Information in asending bowel and 2 polyps? He then said my time was up and l was cut off!! I will now have to wait another year for my coeliac appointment ihope I get to talk to the nice lady I spoke to last year.

That is disgusting being treated like that, I don’t know what has happened to our NHS, I think a lot of it is due to the phone calls rather than seeing us face to face, last year I kept getting GP appointments over the phone when I said I needed to see them face to face she said you don’t look to well and within weeks I was having colonoscopy having fit tests, she referred me to gastro in Colchester, then the phone calls started again I have had four tests done so far for gastro but have not been seen or examined in person at all, but my records say we say him in our clinic today, no that’s a lie, if they saw me I would have gone to the hospital and sat down and spoke to them, it would not have been one phone call and the rest by letter.

So sorry to hear you have had that experience! I’m sure it is little comfort to know you are not alone. I think a lot of medical professionals are burnt out and it’s not that they don’t care, they can’t care anymore and are just getting through the ‘ numbers’ and distancing themselves from the reality of personal problems/ situations.

That aside, your next experience could be completely different and even positive, I have had my own doctor do a complete u turn in his attitude. Keep going and very best wishes!
