Bathroom problems after eating

I've had IBS- d now for a number of years.Its usually reasonably controlled. However for the past couple of weeks I'm finding I have a normal ish poo in the morning as soon as I wake. Then very soon after I eat lunch I have to rush to the loo with explosive diarrhoea.

I have tried changing my breakfast and my lunches but it seems to happen no matter what I do.

I also have more gas than usual,I'm wondering if it might be bile salt malabsorption.

Anyone else experienced this after one specificm meal?

For about a year now I've needed to go almost after every main meal, I don't kniw why, maybe it's just how my ibs is going these days.

It would be worth discussing Bile Acid Malabsorption with your GP. Sometimes they will give you a trial of a bile acid sequestrant to see if it works. I am assuming that you have an IBS D diagnosis already?

Hi babsywabsy I have celiac disease and I believe that I have bam should I chat to my consultant or gp ..I would like a trial of sequestrant And don't like to worry my consultant for a request...am I doing the right thing.

Yes, mine happens after lunch, not every day but that's what IBS is all about unpredictable! If this is new to you get it checked out by your GP
