Can anyone recommend anything other than Peppermint oil capsules and Mucogel Liquid for stomach cramps and bloating associated with I.B.S.?. Thank you.

Hi, I suffer with these pains too, I’ve found some exercises useful ie lying on the floor and bringing up a knee to your chest and holding it as close to your body, relaxing into the floor and breathing slowly, then swapping legs.Along with the hot water bottle of course!

I've never found mint in any form helpful, it's to acidic for me and makes everything worse, but ginger is really effective. I take a ginger supplement every morning and drink ginger tea when I'm in flare up. There's been some recent studies that shows ginger is more effective than mint for IBS. Gentle exercise like a walk or a wee bit of yoga can relieve bloating and a heat pad or a hot water bottle helps the cramping.

Hope that helps

Hi milojenny6 , I suffer from constipation, & just wondered if you had ever tried Golden Linseed ( flaxseed). I think when I was researching Golden Faxseed, I’m sure it said about it being helpful in some cases of IBS, it’s worth taking a look. Flaxseed is a natural fiber , unlike a lot of these chemical formulations.

Hi Milo, the only prescription that instantly helped my stomach cramps are Mebeverine tablets. I take one 20minutes before eating. I hope you are able to have them prescribed.

I agree mebeverine also known as colofac over the counter. ginger tea is good.If it is caused by wind, try little bi-carb (half teaspoon) in water.

Doing the 'child's pose,' in yoga and plenty of movement as if you are doing the'twist'.
