Hi guys, recently told I have reflux and started esomeprazole last week.
The biggest and most unpleasant symptom for me has been having difficulty breathing a lot of the time. The drug actually helped this a lot for a few days before I stupidly went a little bit overboard with beer on Sunday evening, and am now having trouble again.
I'm pretty certain the probs are part of the reflux, although I'm worried it could also be a hernia.
I am wondering though, whether anybody else struggles with apnoea due to reflux, when trying to sleep? I obviously don't notice this during the day thankfully, but when I'm lying down at night and trying to go to sleep, I regularly start myself awake as I feel like I've temporarily stopped breathing. It's a horrible sensation and, as I had an afib ablation last June, it seems to have the lovely side effect of giving me some PACs as part of the deal!
Any advice on this, or guidance as to whether the two are related? I'd love a night's sleep that doesn't start by spending an hour feeling like my airways are attempting to kill me.
