Hi everyone, hope you're doing well.

Rememeber it is not what you are eating, it is what is eating at you. This is something Dr. Nina likes to say on her podcast, the Dr. Nina show. It is a good resource for bingeing and bringing us back to our underlying issues that we are turning away from and turning to food for.

May you have peace, hope, and strength.

Yes!! When I was in my teens I went to a rehab for dual diagnosis…primarily being eating disorders but also other addictions . Now I’m in my fifties and I’m always looking for mentors. I will give Dr Nina a try. Thank you!!

Thanks for the response Lyme, there is apparently next to no activity on this channel. I see that one of your interests is hypothyroidism. Do you feel a drastic difference when taking thyroid medication?

I have gone to a hormone doctor in the chance that it may help with anxiety and depression and my thyroid is on the low end of normal. My doctor wants to bring it up but medication hasn't affected it a whole lot yet. I also started on testosterone at the same time as that was quite low... so I am not 100% on what changes I feel may come from thyroid or something else. I also started a new antidepressant about the same time 😅

Hey Love ,

I sure wish I had a good report about thyroid. As for me my t3 was low so my Dr said the only thing I needed was t3. Problem was I couldn’t tolerate it. I got major chest pains on the smallest dose. So many things that work for others as of late I have reactions too. Goes with the Lyme unfortunately. I work in memory care and see patients on testosterone. Not sure if I saw any big difference but I sure believe that hormones can be tweaked and if we could find the right doses it would do wonders. But would be constant monitoring for sure. But I have had low thyroid for years and feel that that has contributed to my anxiety. I do take cbd/thc mix when needed as it is legal where I’m at. What antidepressant are u trying? For sure it’s good to try one thing at a time to see what’s doing what. Maybe restart one thing at a time and note any changes before adding néw??

I have been doing better for this past year, so I think that I will taper down on a thing or two and see how it goes. I am currently on venlafaxine (Effexor for brand name?) and feel pretty good. I guess it is an NSRI rather than an SSRI and so I don't feel drowzy all the time.

What have you had success with for eating disorders and other addictions that you mentioned?
